Charlotte's Bus
Charlotte's bus driver, who was also their teacher, smiled and waved. He told the girls they were going on a big adventure to the school in the jungle.
The pink bus rumbled forward, not on a road, but on old train tracks, going "clunk-clunk-clunk" with every bump. The girls giggled with every jolt as they watched the blue bus, now being towed, bounce along behind them.

The Jungle School
Their school wasn't a building at all. It was a big, beautiful park that looked like a jungle, with leafy trees that formed a roof and thick bushes for walls. The blue bus arrived right behind them, and all the boys hopped out, happy to finally be at school.
The bus driver said it was the best school because they could learn and play at the same time. The first lesson was about big inventions. Charlotte and her new friends, both girls and boys, spent the morning building a giant fort out of sticks and leaves, creating their own new invention. They were so busy playing and building that they didn't even notice the time fly by.

The End of the Day
When the sun began to dip low in the sky, the bus driver gathered everyone for story time. He pulled out a big, colorful book and showed them a picture of a house with a green roof, saying it belonged to a famous girl named Anne of Green Gables. It was a perfect ending to a magical day of adventure and play. Charlotte smiled, tired but happy. It was a day she would never forget.
